This 1960s ranch was transformed to create a house for avid bird watchers. Located on a wooded site that slopes to a creek below, the original house had little connection to the outdoors. The design removes exterior walls, extends the main living area toward the back of the house for additional living space, and adds a cedar deck for outdoor dining. New floor-to-ceiling glass walls along the full width of the living and dining rooms open the space to the treetops. The kitchen is fully renovated with custom cabinetry and professional appliances, and is opened to the dining room and the view beyond. A new master suite and a two-bedroom guest suite are updated with window bays and cedar decks extending out to enjoy the tranquility of the site.
