Inspired by the design excellence of Germany’s BMW Welt - and with a nod to Eero Saarinen’s nearby Dulles Airport - the design for the new BMW of Sterling strives to feature the BMW brand in an environment that enhances their overall customer experience. The renovated showroom is capped with a floating cloud roof hovering above expansive glass walls that fill their exhibit room with abundant natural light. New car deliveries are prominently featured in a six bay, canopy covered display area that culminates the buyer experience. In addition, the new plan features enhanced customer amenities including a BMW merchandise boutique in the building’s original “Zentrum”, several elegant customer lounges, a café and a customer movie room. A gracefully curving millwork feature wall links the improved service facility with the showroom and compliments the order and precision of the new car display area. All of the new spaces are configured to strengthen the dialogue with customers and visitors by creating a special experience – from initial introduction through customer collection of their purchased vehicle.
